March of the Chicks

April 24, 2011

Karl and I had some fun coming up with dessert for our annual Easter gathering.  Given the move we had packed most of our kitchen supplies but managed to whip up the cutest dessert ever.  Granted the cupcakes were from a box and the icing from the store.  Which is blasphemy in Karl’s world ( nothing out of the ordinary for me Smile! ). They may not have tasted gourmet but they sure looked pretty cute!

What a beautiful weekend. Many walks were had and a great time spending time with the hubby.  We even went out to dinner with Karl’s parents. Really wish I would have had my camera then because Arthurs was so delightful as was the company!

Spring has Sprouted

April 6, 2011

So I think the signs of spring are all around us! hoping that it rejuvenates some desires for posting  here on the blogosphere as well! Karl and I enjoyed a wonderful Sunday spring afternoon last week taking Neko for a walk around Hyde Park/Oakley and found flowers starting to bloom and lots of buds. It’s definitely one of my favorite times of the year!

waking up on the right side of the bed!

January 16, 2011

Today was just one of those really great days. Work went smoothly and even got a compliment out of the blue.  The weather was absolutely perfect for a springy day and I went out for the longest solo run I’ve done in a long time!! Got some relatively good news about a family member which is always niceSmile  Besides the hubby not being home I give this day an A+!

not that this picture has anything to do with the above! but its nice and cheery and reminds me of the springtime ahead!

Beachy

January 15, 2011

Back on the topic of reflection, I looked at the weather forecast for this weekend. 72 and sunny? what? I’m loving that.  We were lucky to have a few trips to warmer climates this winter and enjoyed some warmer weather.  Life just beachy don’t you think?

Reflection

March 14, 2011

I’ve been a little slackerish  this past month.  But looking back the last month has been extremely busy.  I’ve just chosen to slack on the blogfront.  Sickness has plagued the Dollards (nothing more serious than the flu bug). We traveled to NYC to visit with some friends (well I traveled- karl travels there weekly) and we bought and sold a house ( we haven’t closed on either yet).

I’ve taken some fun pictures from some adventures over the past month which I plan to post over the next week.

This is one of my favorites. Karl is outside taking a picture of Jill and I through the window at our all time favorite coffee shop- Stumptown coffee.  We traveled to Portland/Seattle for a marathon a few years back when we first met. I’d say our friendship blossomed over this coffee! It’s the only one of its kind east of the Mississippi. Okay I really don’t know if that is true, but I know there aren’t many outside the west coast. This was the first cup of coffee I could drink black! ( I still add cream and sugar though).

celebrating life!

January 15, 2011

This weekend took part of the wasilewski (dollard) clan to Florida. We all were able to celebrate life in the form of exercise and family bonding. Chrissy ( the sister n law) was running her first marathon (26.2 for Donna). This race was extra special because it was raising awareness and funds for breast cancer. Chrissy’s mom, a breast cancer survivor, was able to join us for the weekend and Chrissy was able to run in honor of her. We also ran in memory of my mom, Donna, who died of uterine cancer over 5 years ago. Karl and I were able to do the half marathon and then we met and ran the last several miles with Chrissy. She was such a trooper as she had been battling a GI bug a few days before and since! That made this accomplishment that much more impressive! Here are a few of my favorite race pics.

love at first lick!

February 9, 2011

I probably should have waited to post this one til valentines day!  One of our friends during some foreign travels found a double decker chupa chup. She knew us too well! One of the things that Karl and I quickly found out about each other is our mutual love for these lollies! We even had them at our wedding as favors.  But the the dual flavor chupa chup= double the love!

not the prettiest picture though!
